Why These Matter

Not all high-BFI animals are right for your herd. The avoid list is personalised — it cross-references each available lot against your existing pedigree, bloodline concentration, and IC profile to flag specific conflicts.

Inbreeding Risk: When a lot shares key founder ancestors with your existing herd, crossing them raises offspring IC above the acceptable 10% threshold. Our data shows elevated IC impacts both health and WBV accuracy over time.

Market Discount Risk: From 2026 actual sale data: Shogun daughters averaged −$1,800 below their BFI model price, and Bail U Out daughters averaged −$1,900 below model. If you already carry these bloodlines, adding more compounds the discount.

Concentration Risk: When >35% of your herd carries the same sire line, that bloodline is effectively "saturated" in your program. Further concentration reduces genetic progress and can amplify negative traits if the sire has any weaknesses.
